What is a Life Coach?

A life coach is someone professionally trained to help you reach your desired results in life, whatever they may be. A life coach is someone that looks to empower others by helping them make, meet and exceed goals in both their personal and professional lives. They can work with you to create a step by step plan and set it in action. The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, transitions in the client's personal life, relationships or profession. They examine what is going on, help discover your obstacles and help you choose a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.

What Does A Life Coach Do?

A life coach helps clients tap into their full potential for who they want to be and what they want to do. Speaking as a life coach myself, a lot of what we do deals with the mind. 80% of what we do is psychology and 20% is strategy. So even if someone looks like they’re doing just fine, they can still be feeling unfulfilled and that’s where life coaches step in: to help from the inside out.

A coach helps you grow by analyzing your current situation, identify limiting beliefs and other potential challenges and obstacles you may be facing, and devising a custom plan of action designed to help you achieve specific outcomes in your life. Through consultations, face to face meetings and phone calls, life coaches work with you to create a relationship, understand your goals and fears, design a plan to overcome any obstacles, and move in the right direction.

How Does Life Coaching Work?

Life coaching can take many different forms, but essentially, it is a form of therapy that is growing and becoming hugely successful since it provides real results. Many life coaches work one-on-one with their clients, and others use group sessions or “Mastermind” groups to coach multiple students with a similar problem or desire at the same time. Still others use in-person workshops or multi-day events. Or, coaches can use a number of different meeting strategies to better serve their clients - it just depends on the coach.

What Will You Learn from Life Coaching?

Life coaching has the potential to help with many different areas of your life, depending on what you’re looking for. For example, life coaching can help you:

  • Get clarity on what you really want in life

  • Find your purpose

  • Boost your confidence and become more motivated

  • Achieve a better work-life balance

  • Excel at work

  • Achieve your ambitions and career goals,

  • Explore your untapped potential.

  • Become happier and more fulfilled at home

...And so much more! People are realizing how simple it can be to accomplish something that might have felt out of reach with a little help. A life coach can help the Big Idea become a Reality.

Who Can Benefit from a Life Coach?

The simple answer to “who can benefit from a life coach” is really anyone!

However, age does play a big part of the coaching equation, and it's interesting how different time frames in your life bring about different transitions. Often people in their 30s and 40s will say, “You know what, I don't really like this aspect of my life, or my job, and I want to do something else.”

Personally, I have many clients that have corporate jobs or are highly successful monetarily on paper, but really are not happy and they want to make a big change. They may be scared and not know where to start, and that's what I do in coaching. I help create simple action steps on how to get people from where they are to where they want to be after they get clarity on where that is.

Why I Became a Life Coach

People often ask me why I became a life coach. The truth is: I love people! Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to help people tap into their higher source of power and create what they wanted in their lives. And I’ve realized over the years that getting clear on what you want is the first piece to the puzzle. Then I can step in and help create a plan of action.

People may want to do things, but they are not sure what it is exactly they want. Most people run from their fears, but with my help, you will learn to recognize them and allow them to drive you towards achievement. Sometimes it is hard to find people in our lives who can honestly hold us accountable, all while cheering us on and motivating us throughout the whole process. That’s the gap that having a wonderful life coach can close.

Are you thinking that a life coach might be able to help you? Are you ready to do something special and meaningful with your life, but you’re not quite sure what it is or how to get there. I can help! Schedule a free coaching call with me here.
