3 Simple Steps to Raise Your Standards (Part 5 of “Getting Back on Track”)

I am a positive, upbeat and joyful person.

But, lately I have been in disbelief and sadness about what is going on in the world with so many questions rolling around in my head.

How much more do we need to witness in senseless deaths, inequality and destroyed communities?

How can we STILL be living in a world with so much anger, violence and hate?

What kind of world are we leaving our children???

Yes, I am upset.

Yes, I am sad.

Yes, I am heartbroken.

But, I know this about me. I will not let my upset, sadness and worry take me down.

Instead, I am going to harness that energy and use it to be an even greater champion of positive change for myself, my family, my friends, my clients and my community.

I am going to raise my standards, level up my life and role model what is possible for others.

This is also what I do as a High Performance Coach. I help people raise their standards and create positive and lasting changes in their lives.

These changes are created within the context of their environment, their identity and their values and beliefs. This is where I partner with them to help them unlock their power, live up to their potential and make the changes they want to improve their lives and be the best versions of themselves.

*3 Simple Steps to Raise Your Standards

1. Be Self-Aware - The first step in knowing what your standards are is to get self-aware about what is frustrating you. Make a list of what you will no longer tolerate in your life. By contrast, this will show you what you do want and to start making decisions about what will stay and what will go.

2. Get Clear About Your Values - Write down the things that mean the most to you and what you want in your life. For example, you may value honesty, respect, trust, achievement, etc. Keep writing until you can’t think of anymore. Circle your top 3. These will be your guiding lights that will help you make decisions in your life.

3. Refresh Your Mind - Now you are clear on what you will not allow in your life as well as what you want to manifest in your life. Take a look at the thoughts, beliefs and emotions that may hold you back from what you desire as well as decide what thoughts, beliefs and emotions you must step into every day to support the new version of you and your life.
